Zacatecas Tacos + Tequila is owned by James Beard awardee Mark Kiffin, and features Daniel Marquez - #1 Latin Concept Chef - voted by the Chefs in America Awards Foundation, and Chef of the Year by E-Brands. Furthermore, Kiffin returned to the Beard House this year to present a five course dinner focusing on southwest cuisine called “Savoring New Mexico.” The menu featured the culinary traditions of both his restaurants, The Compound Restaurant in Santa Fe, and Zacatecas in Albuquerque. The event concluded with Zacatecas being named a semifinalist in the “Best New Restaurant” category, to be presented this spring. The Beard Awards are the highest honor for food and beverage professionals working in North America.
